Trip to Nundle

My most favourite part was visiting with some new people and making some friends.  I didn't really like going gold panning or anything else but going to the cabin and being near the big fire which was nice and warm was fun.

(Mum's note: Well, that was a great educational experience for him, wasn't it?  Oh well!)

My Place 1988 and 1968

We watched two recorded episodes of My Place today.  I read to the boys from an encyclopaedia about Vietnam and Greece, the two cultures featured.  We discussed their climates, primary and secondary industries and their religions.

We also went on the website and played some of the games.  I love the hair do one and had to call my dad about the road rules one.  Very fun!

Best wishes

Playing at a "Mine"

Yesterday I took my eldest Michael, to a treetops adventure park.  While he had his safety training I took the other boys down to a small park nearby.  Jack loved playing in the maze and was in and out quite quickly.  The boys also enjoyed playing in a small playground set up to be a "mine".  There was a mine (tunnel), a nearby timber hut and a conveyor belt with a pile of small rocks ready to use.

Jackson loved standing on the belt at the top and "walking" the belt and rocks up towards him.

Best wishes

Reading Eggs Progress

Today we signed up for another 3 weeks free Reading Eggs trial.  Jackson worked on it for about an hour.  He really enjoys the interactivity part of it although I don't think it could substitute for a formal reading program for him.
